Through genre:

My film storyline is fairly unique but still conforms well to the typical conventions of the political thriller genre. The film contains features such as stalking, violence, death, which would add feelings of fear and suspense for the audience. However in every other Political thriller, the government seem to be the good people. In my film this has been switched making the government the bad killers. This storyline might actually convay an idea in the audiences head that maybe in real life the government are actually hiding something from the public eye. the story line is one that no one has ever heard about before, making it original.

Location:

The location for our title sequence is everything expected in common conventions of a political thriller. A suspense building, cold urban environment. It is set in the centre of London where the CBD is located. this is the region of a large city where all the main businesses and government parties are settled. My audience who i have specifically identified in previous posts are middle aged citizens, who work with in the CBD, and work a stable job. In most political thrillers the audience can relate to the location because thats the type of environment they live in. just like in other political thriller movies i took the audience's environment where they feel safe and turned it into a hostile environment, making them feel vulnerable.

Character:

As well as following common conventions for mise-en-scene in a political, i also wanted to follow the common conventions in the characters presented in these types of films. Firstly i didn't want to give the victim a personality because he was only going to e in the title sequence and not in the rest of the film. On the other hand i wanted to give the killer a hard and fearless interior. I made this character a male to follow the stereotypical idea of a killer. His body language is strong and emotionless, like a stalker. His outfit was also very important when trying to build his persona. His boots are worn out showing that he is always about an on the move and gives us an idea that this isn't the first time he's killed someone. He wares glasses to hide his eyes and make him look emotionless and fearsome. Even his outfit and the bin bag he carries makes him seem like he is very experienced with this type of work.
